International Tamale Festival Returns to Indio This Weekend With Flavor and Fun
One of the Coachella Valley’s most beloved food traditions returns this weekend. The 33rd Annual International Tamale Festival will take place Saturday and Sunday at Miles Avenue Park in Indio, drawing crowds hungry for flavor, culture, and holiday cheer.
Visitors can expect a wide array of tamales, from traditional family recipes to bold new twists using unique ingredients and fiery peppers for those who love an extra kick. Whether you prefer spicy, sweet, meat-filled, or the popular cheese-and-chile variety, there’s a tamale for every taste.
In addition to food, the festival offers a full weekend of entertainment, including live music, family activities, local vendors, and cultural performances celebrating the rich heritage behind the tamale tradition. Even Santa Claus will make appearances throughout the event, greeting families and spreading seasonal spirit.
The International Tamale Festival continues to be one of the largest celebrations of its kind, bringing locals and visitors together to enjoy the flavors of the holidays in Indio.
