Cathedral City Council Appoints Christina Gordon to Fill Vacant Seat

In a special meeting held tonight, the Cathedral City Council selected Christina Gordon as its newest city council member. The appointment fills the vacant seat left by the death of longtime council member Mark Carnevale.

Gordon brings more than 20 years of experience as a nonprofit executive and currently serves on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Cathedral City. She will serve the remainder of Carnevale’s term, which expires in November.

The council voted to fill the vacancy through an appointment rather than holding a special election. In total, council members considered 11 candidates and heard public comment before making their final decision.
