No. 1 Pro-Golfer Scottie Scheffler Returning to The American Express PGA Tour Event
The American Express Golf Tournament announced exciting news today with the return of the world’s number one golfer, Scottie Scheffler, to the Coachella Valley. The 29-year-old star withdrew from last year’s tournament after suffering a hand injury while cooking Christmas dinner, but is now ready to compete once again.
Scheffler will headline the 67th American Express PGA Tour event, taking place Jan. 22 through Jan. 25 at PGA West and La Quinta Country Club. Tournament organizers say fans can expect top-tier golf alongside great food and entertainment throughout the weekend.
In addition to the competition, the event features a popular concert series following play. Country group Old Dominion will perform on Thursday, Jan. 23, followed by OneRepublic on Saturday, Jan. 24. General admission to the concerts is included with tournament tickets.
NBC Palm Springs will have full coverage of the PGA Tour action, with sports anchor Tim O’Brien bringing viewers all the highlights from the course.
