Sheriff Deputies Continue Search for Answers After Human Remains Found in Salton City

The Imperial County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help after human remains were discovered in Salton City.

Deputies responded to a report of suspicious circumstances on December 21st and found what was later confirmed to be a human right leg. A detailed search of the area—including aerial drones and the department's search and rescue unit—turned up no additional remains. The victim has not been identified, and investigators have not ruled out an interaction with wildlife.

"Right now we want the community to know that we are investigating this," said Senior Deputy Victor Torres. "There is a missing person. We don't know where they're missing from or where they're coming from. We want to know any little details."

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Imperial County Sheriff's Office. With the public's help, authorities hope to identify the remains by the end of the week.
