An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Friday, January 9, 2026!

A Wind Advisory continues for areas surrounding the Coachella Valley.

Santa Ana winds will be an issue for Eastern Riverside County and around Joshua Tree National Park where a Wind Advisory expires at 1p this afternoon.

But that Wind Advisory continues for the San Gorgonio Pass, Inland Empire and area mountains through Sunday morning.

As far as high temperatures are concerned, today will be the coolest day before those numbers slowly warm-up each day into next week. The Coachella Valley will see middle-60s this afternoon, 70s beginning Sunday, then 80s by Wednesday.
