Former CVUSD Substitute Arrested in Riverside County Privacy Investigation

A former substitute worker with the Coachella Valley Unified School District was arrested last week in connection with an ongoing investigation by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies arrested 20-year-old Carlos Camacho of Coachella on January 7 following a report of an unlawful invasion of privacy earlier this month. Investigators say Camacho fled the scene before deputies arrived but was later identified during the investigation.
Authorities say Camacho was taken into custody without incident and booked at the John Benoit Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 8.
The school district confirmed Camacho previously worked for the district in a non-teaching role. District officials say he is no longer employed and that the district is cooperating fully with law enforcement as the investigation continues.
No additional details about the circumstances of the alleged incident have been released at this time. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department says the investigation remains ongoing.
