Silvercrest CEO William Rodriguez Back in Court as Defense Seeks Delay in Cathedral City Hit-and-Run Case

New developments emerged in court this morning in the felony case against Silvercrest CEO William Frank Rodriguez, who is facing charges connected to a deadly hit-and-run crash in Cathedral City.

Rodriguez appeared at the Indio Larson Justice Center for his second felony settlement conference. He is accused of fleeing the scene after a crash that killed 60-year-old Christina Barrington, a case that has drawn strong emotional response from the victim’s family and the wider community.

During the hearing, Rodriguez’s attorney, Molly Tucker, requested that the felony settlement conference be continued until March 25. The request would give the defense additional time as the case moves forward. Tucker also asked the court to release records from Acrisure Arena to the defense.

Riverside County Superior Court Judge Dean Benjamini unsealed a confidential envelope in open court, revealing a thumb drive and a declaration. After the hearing, Tucker declined to comment on what information was contained in the records or why they were requested.

Christina Barrington’s daughter, Christiana Barrington, was present in the courtroom along with her civil attorney. Although she was too emotional to speak on camera, her attorney told NBC Palm Springs off camera that the defense may be seeking the Acrisure Arena records because it is suspected Rodriguez attended a concert there shortly before the fatal crash occurred.

Rodriguez’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 25 at the Indio Larson Justice Center for his third felony settlement conference. NBC Palm Springs will continue to follow the case and provide updates as new information becomes available.
