Palm Springs International Airport Sets New Passenger Records in Landmark Year

Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) delivered a record-setting year, welcoming more than 3 million passengers and marking an increase of over 10% compared to the previous year.

Airport officials say the surge was largely fueled by strong domestic travel demand, as travelers continued to choose Palm Springs as a key leisure and destination hub. The growth led to five all-time monthly passenger records, including March, which became the busiest month in the airport’s history with nearly half a million travelers passing through its terminals.

Despite the rise in passenger numbers, PSP actually handled fewer total flights overall. Officials say that’s due to airlines transitioning to larger, quieter, and more fuel-efficient aircraft, allowing carriers to transport more passengers with fewer flights.

Airport leadership says the trend reflects broader changes across the aviation industry while underscoring Palm Springs International Airport’s continued growth and importance to the region’s tourism-driven economy.
