Today’s calendar is a buffet of beauty, books, and baked goods. Here's what we're celebrating:
🍫 National German Chocolate Cake Day
Turns out German chocolate cake isn't German at all — it's named after Sam German, an American baker who knew how to layer on the decadence.
Misleading name? Yes.
Delicious? Absolutely.
Calorie count? We’re not asking.
🌼 National Making Life Beautiful Day
Today’s about finding beauty everywhere — in nature, in people, in your first bite of that German chocolate cake.
Celebrate the big things and the small things.
📚 National Dirty Book Day
Yep, that’s a real thing. Whether your shelves are full of steamy romance, spicy thrillers, or just overdue library books, today’s the day to embrace your “dirty” reads.
🧜♂️Jacques Cousteau Day
Dust off your flippers, because today we’re celebrating in honor of Jacques Cousteau — legendary French explorer, filmmaker, scuba pioneer, and the reason half of us wanted to be marine biologists in elementary school.
Born on this day in 1910, Cousteau brought the oceans to our living rooms and inspired generations to care about the seas.
🎤 Wrapping It Up
So today, remember to:
Eat the cake 🍰
Embrace your shelf 📖
Compliment a stranger 🌼
And channel your inner Jacques 🌊
Trivia champs, costume lovers, and dessert fans — it’s your day. Dive in.
