Arrestan en San Diego a sospechoso que empujó a anciano hacia tren en movimiento
Este martes la policía de San Diego arrestó al sospechoso de empujar a un hombre hacia un tren en movimiento el fin de semana en la estación Old Town del trolley, en un acto sin provocación alguna previamente de acuerdo con los detectives del caso.
Los investigadores afirman que el sujeto de 26 años, que lleva por nombre Ryan Michael Rukstelis es el sospechoso que empujó a Martin Andara, el residente de Santee, frente a un tren en movimiento el sábado por la mañana, luego de que ambos descendieran del vagón y se encontraran caminando en la plataforma del andén.

Andara, de 68 años, sufrió un grave traumatismo en la parte superior de su cuerpo y otras lesiones al impactar el costado del tren en movimiento, siendo declarado muerto por las autoridades a las 6:23 a.m., de acuerdo con el teniente Andra Brown de la policía de San Diego.
El servicio de transporte fue suspendido por la mañana mientras la policía realizaba la investigación, pero fue normalizado alrededor de las 12:30 p.m. del día sábado, de acuerdo con lo informado por el North County Transit.
Rukstelis, que de acuerdo con la policía no cuenta con un domicilio permanente, huyó de la escena del crimen caminando. Fue arrestado sin mayores complicaciones poco después de las 3 p.m. del 4 de enero, en el 2200 de Park Blvd.

Al detenido se le mantuvo bajo custodia en la Cárcel Central de San Diego sin derecho a fianza y a la espera de su arraigo, de acuerdo con registros del centro penitenciario.
Los oficiales continúan investigando las circunstancias del incidente. Cualquier persona que tenga información respecto al caso debe llamar a la Unidad de Homicidios del Departamento de Policía al 619-531-2293 o hacer una denuncia en los Crime Stoppers al 888-580-8477.

Nearly a year after wildfires tore through Mountain Center, the scars are still visible along the Palms to Pines Highway. Now, fire crews are working to repair those burn areas and reduce the risk of flooding, erosion and mudslides when heavy rain arrives. The work includes fire-line suppression repairs, water bars and other measures designed to slow rainwater and keep burned soil from washing away.
