El condado pide tener cuidado con los sitios falsos de pruebas para Covid-19
A medida que la demanda para realizarse una prueba Covid-19 incrementa, los oficiales de salud del condado advierten a los sandieguinos que no estén alerta para no ser víctimas de algún sitio que resulte ser una estafa.
En un comunicado de prensa, el condado dijo que sus residentes deben tener cuidado con las estafas que representan sitios de pruebas que aparecen ofreciendo servicios gratuitos.
La agencia informó que todos los sitio legítimos deben poder comprobar sus credenciales médicas cuando les sean solicitadas, mostrar de que laboratorio es la prueba a utilizar y a dar la información sobre donde se llevará a cabo el análisis de la prueba y cual será la manera en que serán reportados los resultados de la misma.

El condado añadió que los sitios pudieran ser falsos si solicitan a los pacientes su número de Seguro Social o alguna otra información que no sea médica, a menudo sus materiales no tienen logo o están instalados en alguna banqueta y sin estar afiliados a ningún proveedor médico.
“Los habitantes de San Diego deben estar alerta de algunos sitios emergentes que son estafas para obtener datos personales. Si tienen alguna duda, vayan a las oficinas del condado o a uno de los sitios de pruebas para Covid-19 habilitados en la farmacia de su comunidad”, dijo el Dr. Cameron Kaiser, oficial de salud pública del condado en una declaración.

El jefe médico de Salud y Servicios Humanos del condado, el Dr. Eric McDonald, dijo que este tipo de sitios apócrifos ponen en riesgo la salud pública.
“La gente está recibiendo información incorrecta y con la cual no debe actuar, están restringiendo sus actividades cuando no lo necesitan o tal vez están caminando libremente por la vida pensando que están a salvo y exponiendo a sus familiares, lo cual simplemente está mal”
Mientras tanto, la Asociación Nacional Antifraude de Salud dijo que ha identificado sitios falsos de pruebas para Covid-19 en Pennsylvania, Florida, Georgia y Nueva York.

Palm Springs is mourning the loss of beloved entertainer James “Gypsy” Haake, who has died at 94. Haake began his entertainment career at just 19 years old as a Broadway chorus dancer. After retiring from the stage, he returned to performing at 82, becoming the host of Carnival Cabaret at Oscars in downtown Palm Springs.
