Se vence plazo de SDSU y Cal State San Marcos para aplicarse el refuerzo de la vacuna
Este martes se cumple el plazo otorgado para que todos los estudiantes y empleados de las universidades San Diego State y Cal State San Marcos, presenten un comprobante de que se han aplicado la dosis de refuerzo de la vacuna contra el Covid-19.
Pero como ha venido sucediendo en otros ámbitos e industrias, se espera que entre la comunidad estudiantil y planta laboral se presenten diversas excepciones médicas y religiosas.
Para calificar a una de estas excepciones, los estudiantes deben ingresar su solicitud y expresar sus razones, llenando una aplicación por internet.
“Todo está listo, es muy fácil y han sido muy accesibles con las personas que tienen alguna otra razón por la que no pueden”, dijo Joshua Bantau, estudiante de San Diego State University.
En medio del reciente incremento en los casos activos de Covid-19 en el condado de San Diego, ambas universidades anunciaron su intención de cambiar el inicio de clases presencial programado, por un inicio de clases en línea.
En San Diego State, las primeras dos semanas serán impartidas en esta modalidad, empezando este miércoles y regresando al campus a partir del 7 de febrero.
Cal State también anunció sus intenciones de prolongar su regreso a clases presenciales dos semanas, con lo que iniciarían el 24 de enero de manera virtual.
Algunos estudiantes han expresado su inconformidad y quieren regresar lo más pronto posible a las aulas.
Como el caso de Addie Duryee estudiante de San Diego State University, quien afirma que no podrá tener el mejor rendimiento en algunas de sus clases.
“Estoy cursando lenguaje de señas, ¿Cómo voy a poder aprender lenguaje de señas a través de una videollamada?”, expresó.
Mientras que algunos otros no comprenden cual es el criterio para permitir las actividades presenciales, como el caso de Mieke Turangan, otro estudiante de SDSU.
“Es algo confuso ya que se que se han estado celebrando partidos de basketball y la biblioteca está abierta, los gimnasios también, así que no se que tan efectiva sea esta medida”, afirmó.

Palm Springs firefighters responded Thursday to a report of a person struck by lightning in the Chino Canyon area. The person was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Firefighters also responded to a palm tree fire in Chino Canyon that officials say was caused by an apparent lightning strike.
