Open House to be Held at Cathedral City High School Pool Sunday
CATHEDRAL CITY (CNS) – City and school officials will host an open house event this weekend to inform residents about its summer pool program, which will allow them to use the Cathedral City High School pool until Aug. 5. The event will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m Sunday at the school’s pool, 69-250 Dinah Shore Drive, according to a statement from Cathedral City communications and events manager Ryan Hunt. The "mayor and a few members of City Council will also be sporting 20s-style swimsuits at the event to add a little fun, and we hope to do an official `first splash’ in the pool with all of them," Hunt said in a statement. Mayor Rita Lamb, PSUSD Board of Education Member Sergio Espericueta, Lenny the Landshark and CCHS standout swimmer Jayden Crittenden, among others will be present at the event, according to Hunt. On March 8, a three-party joint-use agreement to provide swim sessions and lessons for residents at the school’s pool was unanimously approved by city, school district and Desert Recreation District officials. The pool is set to open to residents for recreational swim sessions and swim lessons from Sunday to Aug. 5.
