Over 278,000 Without Power in Southern California Due to Wildfires
Southern California Edison (SCE) has issued a report this morning, confirming that over 278,000 customers are without power as a result of the devastating wildfires and extreme weather conditions affecting the region. The report indicates that more than 129 of the outages have been caused by weather-related damage, while the remainder are precautionary measures taken to prevent further risks during the ongoing fires.
The utility company has made it clear that power restoration is unlikely to occur soon, as the extreme weather conditions continue to complicate efforts. Areas like Banning and Cabazon are currently experiencing power outages, while Desert Hot Springs and Morongo Valley, though still powered, are in active outage warning zones due to the ongoing threats posed by the fires and weather.
With the situation continuing to evolve, SCE has assured residents they are monitoring the situation and will provide further updates on power restoration and outage zones as more information becomes available. Emergency responders are working hard to manage both the fires and the power outages, but residents are being urged to stay prepared for possible extended disruptions.
