Cool & Breezy Today, Rain Returns Midweek for the Coachella Valley

After a windy and cloudy start to the week, the Coachella Valley is seeing clearer skies and cooler temperatures today. The recent system brought gusty conditions and scattered showers, with measurable rainfall recorded only in Sky Valley at 0.05 inches. Other nearby areas, such as Whitewater and Cabazon, saw higher totals between 0.25 and 0.40 inches.

Today’s temperatures will be slightly below normal, with highs around 71°F in Palm Springs and 72°F in Indio. Winds remain breezy in some areas, with gusts reaching 48 mph in Whitewater and 26 mph in Thousand Palms, though conditions are expected to improve by tomorrow.

A new storm system is on the horizon, arriving late Wednesday into Thursday. Gusty onshore winds will pick up again, and light rain is possible, mainly in the western Coachella Valley. The mountains could see up to 10 inches of snow, with snow levels dropping to 4,000 feet by early Friday.

Looking ahead, temperatures drop significantly by Thursday, with a high of just 64°F in Palm Springs and 68°F in Indio. Expect cool, breezy conditions and possible showers through early Friday, before milder weather returns for the weekend.
