Major Construction Begins on South Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs
Construction began today on South Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs, kicking off a long-term infrastructure project that’s expected to significantly impact traffic for months.
According to the City of Palm Springs, work will take place daily from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through May 7, with a bridge demolition scheduled for May 12. Traffic control measures will remain in place for up to 10 months, with key changes including a reduction to one lane in each direction and limited access to East Sunny Dunes Road.
Despite the closures, the city emphasized in a social media post that local businesses will remain open during construction, encouraging residents to continue to shop and dine locally.
Motorists are being advised to plan ahead, expect delays, and use alternate routes whenever possible to minimize disruption during peak hours.
