Coachella Mothers Honored with Resources, Celebration
Friday evening in the City of Coachella, TODEC Legal Center hosted a heartfelt Mother’s Day celebration for farm workers at the Coachella Library. The event aimed to honor hardworking mothers while also connecting them to essential public services. Residents learned about local and state programs offering cash aid, food assistance, and health coverage. Eligibility technicians were on hand to help with applications for CalFresh, CalWORKs, and Medi-Cal. They also guided families toward additional community resources they might qualify for. The assistance was especially vital for many farm-working families navigating complex systems. In addition to the practical support, the event featured live entertainment. 103.5’s Sho Boy and his team brought the energy with music, dancing, and giveaways. Their presence lit up the room and put smiles on mothers' faces. The celebration created a festive, welcoming atmosphere for everyone involved. It was a day that balanced joy and support, culture and care. And for many, it was a reminder that their hard work is recognized and valued.
