Mending Palm Springs: Fundraiser Launched to Support Businesses Affected by Bombing

As cleanup efforts continue following the devastating bombing in downtown Palm Springs, some local businesses are facing an unexpected challenge: insurance claim denials. Several owners report being told their damages aren’t covered due to the attack being classified as an act of terrorism.

To help those affected, NBC Palm Springs has partnered with the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce, Big 106 FM, and GED Magazine to launch a community fundraiser called Mending Palm Springs.

The event will take place this Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Booz Hounds Restaurant, located at the southeast corner of Palm Canyon Drive and Via Escuela in Palm Springs. It will be a drive-through donation event, making it easy for community members to contribute without even leaving their cars.

“Please come by, make a donation, and say hello,” organizers said. “We’ll be out there all day, helping raise funds to offset the cost of damage to local businesses.”

Funds collected will go directly to support businesses affected by the explosion, many of which are still working to recover and reopen.

Whether you’re donating $5 or $50, every contribution makes a difference. Let’s come together and show that Palm Springs takes care of its own.
