Coachella Valley Heats Up: Weekend Temps Soar Toward Triple Digits
Hey Coachella Valley—happy Friday! You've officially made it to the weekend, and while that's reason enough to celebrate, be prepared: the desert heat is coming in strong.
Today’s high reached 102°F, a bit above the seasonal average of 100°F, and that warming trend is only going to intensify over the next few days. As we move into the weekend, temperatures will steadily climb, peaking between 107°F and 111°F on Sunday.
While this heat is significant, it’s not expected to break any records. The all-time high for this time of year stands at a scorching 118°F, set in 1973—and thankfully, we’re forecast to top out at 110°F, staying shy of that historic number.
Still, extreme heat is nothing to take lightly. If you have outdoor plans, especially on Sunday, take precautions: stay hydrated, limit strenuous activity during peak afternoon hours, and don’t forget the sunscreen.
Looking ahead, this heat surge will extend into early next week, with temperatures remaining elevated on Monday. By midweek, we’ll start to see a slight cooling trend, bringing us back down to just above our seasonal norms.
7-Day Comfort Forecast Snapshot:
Friday: 102°F – Slightly above average
Saturday: Heating up
Sunday: 107–111°F – Peak of the heat
Monday: Still hot
Tuesday–Thursday: Slight cooldown, closer to average
Stay safe and cool, Coachella Valley—summer is making itself known!
