Iran Fires Hundreds of Missiles at Israel in Retaliation for Israeli Strikes on Tehran
Tensions between Iran and Israel exploded Friday after Iran launched what it described as a “crushing response,” firing hundreds of ballistic missiles at Israeli targets. The Israeli military issued an urgent warning that “all of Israel is under fire.”
Iran’s official news agency, IRNA, confirmed the launch Friday evening local time, stating, “The operation of decisive response to the savage attack of the Zionist regime has begun.”
The attack came hours after Israel carried out a major two-pronged strike targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities and military leadership in Tehran. According to reports, the Israeli operation was conducted without support from the United States. The Trump administration has publicly stated that Israel acted alone and that Washington had “no involvement.”
CNN reporters on the ground in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem reported hearing large explosions. Video showed smoke and incoming rockets over the skyline of Tel Aviv.
According to Israel’s emergency medical services, at least seven people were injured near the Tel Aviv-Ramat Gan border. Magen David Adom, Israel’s Red Cross affiliate, released footage of collapsed buildings and damaged vehicles in central areas.
During a live press briefing with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), missile sirens interrupted the session. The broadcast was cut short as officials activated defense systems and urged civilians to take shelter.
This is a rapidly developing story. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.
