MINDY FIRE NEAR TEMECULA NOW MOSTLY CONTAINED

Crews continue to gain the upper hand on the Mindy Fire burning east of Temecula.
As of today, it’s 90 percent contained.
That progress has allowed officials to lift all evacuation orders.
Firefighters worked through the night to strengthen containment lines.
Air tankers, bulldozers, and hand crews were all used in the effort.
Officials say conditions improved overnight, helping slow the fire’s spread.
Residents who were forced to leave earlier are now able to return.
So far, no homes have been reported damaged.
The fire broke out earlier this week and spread quickly due to dry brush.
