ActBlue Raises $400 Million as Trump Orders Federal Investigation
Democratic fundraising platform ActBlue announced it raised nearly $400 million in the latest quarter, bringing its 2025 total to over $800 million so far. The platform also reports a significant increase in donor participation, with 400,000 more unique donors using ActBlue now compared to four years ago.
Despite the surge in support, ActBlue is currently under federal scrutiny. In April, President Donald Trump ordered an investigation into the platform, prompting a congressional probe. Initially cooperative, ActBlue has recently begun pushing back, arguing that lawmakers may be overstepping their authority and improperly using their powers to support the Justice Department's inquiry.
Democrats have denounced the investigation, calling it a political attempt to suppress liberal fundraising efforts.
As of now, the Department of Justice has not taken any public action against ActBlue. However, the president’s directive gives the DOJ until late October to issue a report on the investigation’s findings.
