Major Highway 111 Paving Project Begins in La Quinta

A significant road construction project has begun on Highway 111 in La Quinta, causing major traffic disruptions that are expected to continue through the second week of November.

The paving project spans from Plaza La Quinta to Jefferson Street, prompting transportation officials to urge drivers to use alternate routes during construction.

According to Armando Cabrera from the Coachella Valley Association of Governments' CV Sync Traffic Management program, motorists should use Miles Avenue and Fred Waring Drive as alternate routes. Traffic signal timing has been adjusted on these corridors to accommodate diverted traffic.

"Pay attention to the changeable message boards and use the alternate routes," Cabrera advised.
