Manny The Movie Guy Interviews 'Wednesday' Stars on Season 2 Return

Our  Manny the Movie Guy traveled to London to interview the stars of Netflix's "Wednesday" about the show's second season.

Jenna Ortega, the Coachella Valley native who stars as Wednesday Addams, said she never anticipated the series' massive success when filming the first season. "You don't really think so prematurely when it comes to making a show," Ortega told NBC Palm Springs. "The first season was such a big task that I was just trying to get through the days. We kind of thought it was going to be a one-and-done thing."

The series, which earned Emmy recognition, has returned with Ortega now serving as both star and producer. Season 2 Part 1, consisting of four episodes, is currently streaming.

Emma Myers, who plays Wednesday's roommate Enid, discussed significant character development for the new season. "When we leave Enid in season one, she's finally wolfed out, so over the summer she's found a community and a pack she wants to be part of," Myers explained during the NBC Palm Springs interview. "She has this newfound confidence with a new style and personality."

Co-star Joy Sunday, who portrays Bianca the siren, said her character's hidden secrets will create major complications. "They're really starting to come out and bubble up in ways that affect her and her family and school in ways she really can't ignore anymore," Sunday said.

The cast emphasized that viewers will see deeper exploration of characters introduced in the first season. Sunday called the upcoming episodes her "favorite season out of the two," particularly praising Part 2.

Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 is scheduled to release September 3 on Netflix, Part 1 is out now.
