It’s a seasonal Thursday in the Coachella Valley, with a forecast high of 109 degrees—right on par for this time of year. Even better news: temperatures are on track to cool as we head into the weekend.

A glance at the surface map shows monsoonal moisture moving through the region, bringing showers to Arizona and a hint of humidity to our desert skies. Many residents may have noticed that extra moisture in the air early this morning, and forecasters say it could linger into the weekend.

Friday’s high is expected to dip to 106 degrees, marking the start of a cooler stretch. Weekend temperatures will remain below average for August, offering some relief from the typical summer sizzle.

By the middle of next week, however, the heat is expected to return, with highs climbing back to around 110 degrees by Wednesday.
