This afternoon the Coachella Valley will be under sunny skies with high temperatures at -- or just above -- 100° and dew points in the 40s.

Tuesday will be our hottest day as Valley midday highs peak around the 105-degree mark.

We will see clouds begin to build over Southern California late on Wednesday with near-normal Valley highs around 100° that afternoon.

By Thursday and Friday, we'll be sandwiched between a weak upper-low off the SoCal coast and a ridge of high pressure to the east. Those atmospheric gears are expected to pull-up moisture from the tropics (associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Mario).

As of today, there is a pretty good chance we will see widely scattered showers -- and a few mountain thunderstorms -- over the Southland while clouds and higher humidity will play roles in restricting daytime heating those two days,
