Jimmy Kimmel Announces Star-Studded Brooklyn Shows With Colbert, Spike Lee, and Emily Blunt

Jimmy Kimmel is moving his late-night show to New York for a week, bringing a star-packed lineup to the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

The “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host announced that upcoming guests will include Stephen Colbert, Spike Lee, Tom Hanks, Bruce Springsteen, Ryan Reynolds, and Emily Blunt. The New York broadcast marks a high-profile return for Kimmel, who was suspended last week after comments about conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s alleged killer led ABC to briefly halt production.

Kimmel joked Thursday night that “what we have to do now is stay on the move so the FCC can’t get us.” On Friday, Sinclair — one of the two major station groups that pulled his show earlier this month — announced it would return Kimmel to its lineup. Nexstar, the other station group still blacking out the program, has not commented on whether it will follow suit.

The suspension drew speculation about whether Kimmel, whose contract ends next year, would ever return. But on Tuesday night, he delivered an emotional comeback monologue, defending free speech and criticizing those who tried to silence his program. “This show is not important,” he told viewers. “What’s important is that we live in a country that allows us to have a show like this.”

Kimmel also clarified that it was never his intention to make light of a young man’s murder, while continuing to call out efforts to politicize the tragedy.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” typically airs from Hollywood, but his Brooklyn shows will run for a week on ABC at 11:35 p.m. ET.
