The Palm Springs Animal Shelter brought double the cuteness to NBC Palm Springs this week with two-month-old kittens Stitch and Mertle, a bonded brother-sister pair looking for their forever home together.

Dan Rossi from the Palm Springs Animal Shelter showcased the calm, affectionate kittens during the station's weekly Pet of the Week segment. The siblings demonstrated their TV-ready personalities, remaining relaxed and friendly throughout the morning broadcast.

"They're so lovely. They were very quiet on the drive over here, which was a good sign," Rossi said, noting the pair's easygoing temperament.

Other Adoptable Animals

The shelter also featured two dogs available for adoption:

Dawson, a one-year-old dog with high intelligence and energy, loves walks, toys, and spending time with his person. However, Dawson needs to be the only dog in the household and would thrive as the center of attention.

Fanny, an 11-month-old with boundless energy, returned to the shelter after her previous adoption didn't work out due to her playful nature around young children. Fanny loves other animals and would be ideal for a multi-pet household without small kids.

Fostering Makes a Difference

Rossi also highlighted the shelter's fostering program, which provides all necessary supplies and regular check-ins with foster families. The program offers a way for community members to help animals even if they're not ready for permanent adoption.

Special Screening Event Tonight

The Mary Pickford Theater in Cathedral City is teaming up with Loving All Animals and the Palm Springs Animal Shelter for a special screening event tonight (Thursday).

The theater will show "Roxy and the Man" with a cast and crew Q&A following the film. The event begins at 5 PM, with tickets priced at $45, which includes drinks and food. All proceeds will fund both organizations.
