Winterfest 2025 Brings Holiday Cheer and Local Dancers to Palm Desert Civic Center Park

The holiday spirit was in full swing across the Coachella Valley this weekend as Winterfest 2025 transformed the Palm Desert Civic Center Park into a lively celebration of local talent and community unity. The festival, which took place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., drew crowds for a full day of open-air entertainment.

At the heart of the event were the dance performances. The festival highlighted students from the Desert Sands Unified School District (DSUSD) as well as performances from Dance Dimensions students. Young dancers participating in the district’s Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) took to the stage to showcase routines they have been practicing for months.

Speaking with NBC Palm Springs, the Sydney Newland, owner of Dance Dimensions, emphasized the importance of inclusivity in the arts. "It's really important to have for a community event because it brings everyone together in dance," the coordinator stated. "I just hope that it can continue to grow and become bigger and better every year."

Beyond the stage, attendees enjoyed a variety of local vendors and food trucks. Organizers also expanded the event's family appeal this year by introducing a new lineup of kids' activities, including a bounce house, lawn bowling, and interactive games. The successful turnout highlights the community's growing enthusiasm for this annual holiday tradition.
