Teen Killed, Two Others Injured As Vehicle Overturns in Corona

CORONA (CNS) – A teenage passenger was killed and the driver and another passenger were moderately injured when the vehicle they were in overturned Tuesday in Corona. Corona Police Department officers responded to the intersection of El Sobrante Road and Circle City Drive around 8:35 a.m. and located the driver and two passengers, who were 16 and 17 years old, in a vehicle that had overturned, according to Cpl. Tobias Kouroubacalis, the department’s public information officer. One passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver and another passenger suffered moderate injuries and were hospitalized in stable condition, Kouroubacalis said. The accident is being investigated by the Corona Police Department’s Collision Response Team. It is not known if drugs or alcohol were contributing factors of the fatal collision. The name of the passenger killed was withheld pending the notification of their family, Kouroubacalis said. The names of the other two juveniles were not disclosed.
