Mexico Elects First Female President

With nearly 59% of the vote, the former Mayor of Mexico City marks a significant milestone in a nation grappling with gender-based violence. Her closest rival secured 28% of the vote. In her victory speech, Sheinbaum expressed gratitude as both oppenents conceded, she will start her six year term on October 1st.
