An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Saturday, November 2, 2024!
The Coachella Valley will start the day with patchy clouds, which -- except for perimeter mountain clouds -- will slowly clear-out this afternoon. As a cold front approaches the Southwest, on-shore winds will become a bit gusty in wind-prone areas later today. Then -- as this boundary exits the area to the East -- gusty Santa Ana winds will pick-up late-Sunday into early-Monday. Although a Wind Advisory has been posted for areas from the Little San Bernardino Mountains into the High Desert, winds will become occasionally gusty at times around the Valley. Because of a mix of gusty Northerly winds and low relative humidity, a Fire Weather Watch has been issued for the Inland Empire area and nearby mountains. Any precipitation with this system will be widely scattered and light, and will fall West of the Valley between late-Saturday and early-Sunday. This frontal passage will also reinforce those below-normal high temperatures as we move into a new week. You can expect highs in the upper-70s/lower-80s through Tuesday, followed by another front which will subtract a few more degrees beginning Wednesday.
