Homicide Investigation Underway at Coachella Ranch

Authorities are investigating a homicide after the body of a man was discovered on Tuesday afternoon in Coachella. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a report around 12:30 p.m. near Avenue 51. Upon arrival, investigators found the man deceased with visible trauma and clear signs of foul play. Crime scene tape surrounded the area as detectives combed the property for evidence throughout the day. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the identity of the victim has not been released. The Sheriff’s Department is continuing its investigation and is urging anyone with information to come forward. Residents in the area have expressed concern, as law enforcement works to determine what led to the man’s death. Palm Springs is mourning the loss of beloved entertainer James “Gypsy” Haake, who has died at 94. Haake began his entertainment career at just 19 years old as a Broadway chorus dancer. After retiring from the stage, he returned to performing at 82, becoming the host of Carnival Cabaret at Oscars in downtown Palm Springs. A longtime friend of our station, Haake was a familiar and beloved figure in the Palm Springs entertainment community — and his contributions were recognized with a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.
