Palm Springs Honors World Aids Day

The Palm Springs Art Museum partnered with the HIV+ Aging Research Project to mark World Aids Day yesterday.... Events included a symposium featuring two speakers who have been impacted by the virus... Marc Franke and Paul Edmonds and experts discussing the latest research. The program also showcased "Red Reminds Me"... a series of films exploring HIV and aids, public health, and social justice. A panel discussion with local organizations and scholars followed the screenings, reflecting on the impact of art and activism. Living with HIV is no longer a death sentence, and this December, "Art Plus" will celebrate the creativity of HIV-positive artists. The exhibition is in partnership with the HIV+ aging research project. It will be on display at the Stephen Baumbach Gallery in Palm Springs from December 4th through the 28th. Seven local artists will be featured, with gallery hours from 10 a.M. To 4 P.M. Monday through Friday...... and 11 A.M. To 3 P.M. On Saturdays.
