The Earthquake Aftershocks Continue!
It all started with a Far-Reaching 7.0 magnitude earthquake at 10:44a Thursday morning under the Pacific Ocean just off of the coast of Cape Mendocino in Northern California. The major quake was felt as far south as San Francisco, some 270 miles away. This quake was followed immediately by numerous aftershocks, which continue this morning. The epicenter of Thursday’s 7.0 shaker occurred in California’s “Earthquake Country” where three tectonic plates meet. The temblor was the most powerful to rattle California since a 7.1-quake hit Ridgecrest in 2019. As of this posting, the USGS has recorded one magnitude 7 quake, five Intermediate 4s, 50 Moderate 3s, and almost one-hundred 2s. @JerrySteffen @NBCPalmSprings
