An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up for Saturday, December 7, 2024!

After this wonderful weekend, a few notable changes will be heading our way. This afternoon the Coachella Valley will be under total sunshine with dry air and above-normal highs in the lower-80s. Aside from a few early upper-level, fair-weather high clouds, sunshine returns Sunday with midday temperatures in the upper-70s. Clear skies are expected for your Monday with highs in the middle-70s and strong evening breezes. Next -- as a frontal boundary moves through the Southwest -- temperatures cool while winds strengthen. Although Santa Ana winds will be an issues between Monday and Tuesday, the timing for the strongest gusts looks to be during Tuesday morning and afternoon. Because of the increase of winds and extremely low relative humidity, a Fire Weather Watch has been posted for a large area of Southern California, primarily West of the Coachella Valley.
