Firebirds drop both games in San Jose over the weekend
It wasn't the Firebirds weekend in San Jose. Coachella Valley lost both contests, 1-0 on Saturday and 2-1 on Sunday. On Sunday, the Firebirds jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first period with a goal from Nik Brouillard. A blast from the point that beat Barracuda netminder, Georgi Romanov. San Jose would tie the game at one later in the first period. Following a scoreless second period, and first half of the third period, it was San Jose's Donavan Houle who found the back of the net to give the Barracuda their first lead of the game. Nikki Kokko returned after leaving Thursday night's game with an injury and made 36 saves on 38 shots. The Firebirds are now 11-8-1-2 on the season, and have fallen to 0-3-0-0 to the Barracuda.
