An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Monday, December 9, 2024!

The Coachella Valley will experience another sunny, warm and dry afternoon as highs once again reach into the upper-70s this afternoon. Then, changes head our way. As a frontal boundary moves through the Southwest, Santa Ana winds will become a bit gusty tonight though Tuesday morning. Valley temps will also cool into the upper-60s/lower-70s Tuesday afternoon. Because of the gusty winds and low relative humidity, a Red Flag Warning has been posted for areas West of the Valley through early-Wednesday morning. We will also experience some of the coolest overnight lows so far this season as Valley lows fall into the middle-30s to lower-40s. Palm Springs firefighters responded Thursday to a report of a person struck by lightning in the Chino Canyon area. The person was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Firefighters also responded to a palm tree fire in Chino Canyon that officials say was caused by an apparent lightning strike. Estevan Figueroa of King’s Club Barbershop is giving back across the Coachella Valley — one haircut at a time. He and his team recently gave dozens of free haircuts to kids at the Boys and Girls Club in Cathedral City. Figueroa also provides clothing, essentials and encouragement to people in need.
