Palm Springs Fire Station Spreads Holiday Cheer with Annual Toy Drive
Palm Springs Firefighters Bring Holiday Joy with Annual Toy Drive
The Palm Springs Fire Department is once again embracing the spirit of the season with its beloved annual Toy Drive, now in its 30th year. The initiative aims to bring smiles to local children in need by collecting new, unwrapped toys for distribution during the holidays.
The toy drive officially kicked off on December 1 and runs through Christmas Day, December 25. However, the generosity doesn’t stop there. "If you bring toys in February, March, or April, we'll still collect them and leverage them for Christmas next year," shared a firefighter.
Fire Station No. 2, located at 300 North Calle Encilia in Palm Springs, serves as the hub for donations. The station operates 24/7, including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, ensuring a firefighter is always available to accept gifts.
This year, the department hopes to exceed previous collection totals, brightening even more lives. "With the toys collected, we’ve been able to distribute gifts directly to neighborhoods, often aboard our vintage 1931 El Diablo fire engine," a firefighter explained.
The community is encouraged to participate by dropping off toys and connecting with their local heroes. "Take a picture with a firefighter, have a conversation—it’s all about strengthening our bond with the community," added the team.
For those looking to give back this season, the Palm Springs Fire Department offers the perfect opportunity to make a difference while spreading holiday cheer.
