First Ever Tornado in San Francisco!
This morning, the city of San Francisco was issued a tornado warning for the first time in recorded history.
The San Francisco Department of Emergency Management confirmed the tornado threat which ended at 6:14a when the system moved Northeast of the downtown area.
A Flood Advisory and High Wind Warning were also posted. More than 10,000 people were without power in the area this morning.
According to the National Weather Service, California averages nine tornadoes in a year. Previously, no tornado warnings had ever been recorded for downtown San Francisco.
