With just over a week until the holiday, local residents are sharing their beautiful photos that capture the region's breathtaking scenery. Viewer submissions include a gorgeous photo from C of My Lock, showcasing the stunning valley views, and a vibrant sunset shot from Rey, featuring high clouds and the mountains beneath them. Other submissions include a picturesque scene from Merle in Desert Hot Springs and a vibrant photo from Kay, highlighting purple and pink skies with a silhouette palm tree. In addition to the beautiful holiday-themed photos, the weather is continuing to impress with warm temperatures for the season. We're just days away from the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, but the weather feels anything but cold. Temperatures have been well above average, with high 80s expected this week. The dry conditions are continuing, making for a warm and clear winter pattern in Southern California. As we wrap up December, the forecast calls for more warm temperatures, with the high 80s expected through the week and dipping to the 70s on Friday and Saturday before climbing back to the 80s on Sunday. The 2024 holiday season is set to be warm and dry, making it a perfect time to enjoy the stunning views around the Coachella Valley. Palm Springs firefighters responded Thursday to a report of a person struck by lightning in the Chino Canyon area. The person was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Firefighters also responded to a palm tree fire in Chino Canyon that officials say was caused by an apparent lightning strike. Estevan Figueroa of King’s Club Barbershop is giving back across the Coachella Valley — one haircut at a time.
