Six Arrested in Connection with Coachella Valley Train Burglaries, $200K in Stolen Goods Recovered
A series of train burglaries across the Coachella Valley has led to the arrest of six suspects this weekend. The investigation, which began on August 2nd, started when deputies responded to a burglary in Mecca. The Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District team took over the case, uncovering multiple burglaries linked to the same group of suspects.
On November 22nd, a second burglary occurred, and this time nearly $200,000 worth of stolen merchandise was recovered. Authorities say the suspects, who are all from Mecca, Thermal, and Indio, have been linked to several train burglaries in the area.
As part of the investigation, investigators discovered stolen property from previous incidents, connecting the suspects to a series of burglaries spanning several months. The stolen goods were found across various locations, including one in Mecca, where video footage from the burglary was captured.
All six suspects have been arrested and booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio. The authorities are continuing their investigation and are urging anyone with additional information about the crimes to come forward.
