Toy, Food, and Clothing Drive Brings Holiday Cheer to the Coachella Valley
As the holiday season approaches, many families are feeling the pressure of providing gifts and essentials. But there is good news as the Coachella Valley steps up to help those in need. NBC Palm Springs has teamed up with the Boys and Girls Club of Cathedral City and the Galilee Center in Mecca to host a toy, food, and clothing drive, making it easier for locals to give back this holiday season. The drive runs all day today, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the NBC Palm Springs station, located off Monterey and Park View Drive in Palm Desert.
Donating is quick and simple—just drop off an unwrapped toy, non-perishable food item, or socks without ever leaving your car. The donations will be distributed to the Boys and Girls Club of Cathedral City, which serves local youth, and the Galilee Center in Mecca, providing food and clothing for families in need.
News director David Reese has been on the scene all morning, encouraging viewers to join in the effort. "We're here until 7 o'clock tonight, so please stop by and help make a difference. Every little bit counts," he said. A special bonus for those donating—donors can grab a Krispy Kreme donut while supplies last!
This drive is an easy way for the community to come together and spread holiday cheer to those less fortunate this season.
