Find Food Bank Tackles Rising Food Insecurity in the Coachella Valley This Holiday Season
Find Food Bank Rises to Meet Growing Food Insecurity in Coachella Valley As the holiday season approaches, Find Food Bank is working tirelessly to combat food insecurity across the Coachella Valley, where one in five residents struggles to put food on the table. This year, the demand for assistance is expected to rise due to increasing living costs and inflation, leaving many families without essential resources. Find Food Bank, the region’s primary food distribution hub, provides food security for thousands of individuals and families. On average, the organization serves over 125,000 people each month and distributes an impressive 28 million pounds of food annually. However, ensuring access to nutritious and healthy meals is no small feat, especially during the holidays. “During this time of year, one meal can make a huge difference for someone facing food insecurity,” says Debbie Espinosa, President and CEO of Find Food Bank. To meet this growing need, the organization is calling on the community for “food, friends, and funds.” Volunteers, food donations, and financial contributions are essential to helping Find Food Bank continue its mission. The support doesn’t just feed families directly. Find Food Bank also provides nutritious food to over 100 local nonprofit organizations, ensuring their pantries remain stocked for clients in need. “These end-of-year contributions are critical to keeping our community strong and resilient,” Espinosa adds. With the demand for assistance increasing alongside the rising cost of living, Find Food Bank’s efforts are a vital lifeline for many.
