New 'Lion King' Prequel, 'Sonic the Hedgehog 3,' and Bob Dylan Biopic Hit Theaters – Manny the Movie Guy's Box Office Review

This weekend, moviegoers can catch three highly anticipated films hitting theaters: the Lion King prequel, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and the Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown. Manny the Movie Guy breaks down these latest releases in his review, brought to you by Agua Caliente Casinos. The Lion King prequel, Mufasa, dives into the origin story of the iconic lion, exploring the bond between Mufasa and Taka, who will later become the villainous Scar. Directed by Moonlight's Barry Jenkins, the film boasts a strong cast with voices by Theo Samalu, Calvin Harrison Jr., and Blue Ivy. Despite impressive music by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the photo-realistic animation may distract from the storytelling. Manny gives Mufasa 2.5 out of 4 stars, calling it sweet but uninspired. On the other hand, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is a hit with families, featuring Keanu Reeves as the villainous Shadow and a heartwarming message about vengeance and forgiveness. Fast-paced action and electrifying animation make it the best installment of the franchise, earning a solid 3 out of 4 stars. Lastly, Timothy Chalamet stars as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, capturing the rebellious spirit of the iconic musician. While the film excels in its music and performances, it falters in digging deeper into Dylan’s inner world, leaving viewers wanting more. Manny gives it 3 out of 4 stars for its compelling performances and strong music but acknowledges its lackluster conclusion. Catch Manny's full review for these films, including the holiday movie guide, and keep an eye on the latest trends at your local theaters.
