Manny the Movie Guy's Best and Worst Films of 2024
Manny the Movie Guy has unveiled his top 10 films of 2024, showcasing a mix of cinematic triumphs and disappointments. Topping the list is The Brutalist, a powerful immigrant tale from director Brady Corbet, with Adrian Brody delivering a stellar Oscar-worthy performance.
Other highlights include Anoa, a daring reimagining of Cinderella, and Wicked, which successfully adapts the Broadway hit into an improved, character-driven cinematic experience. Animated films also shone brightly, with The Wild Robot delivering thrills and heartwarming moments.
However, Manny didn’t shy away from calling out the year's misfires. Joker: Folie à Deux struggled with its identity, and Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis was labeled an overstuffed disappointment.

Palm Springs firefighters responded Thursday to a report of a person struck by lightning in the Chino Canyon area. The person was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Firefighters also responded to a palm tree fire in Chino Canyon that officials say was caused by an apparent lightning strike. Estevan Figueroa of King’s Club Barbershop is giving back across the Coachella Valley — one haircut at a time.
