Riverside County Gas Prices See Significant Drop in 2024

The average price of regular gasoline in Riverside County reached its lowest year-ending price since 2020, at $4.285 per gallon. This represents a significant decrease from the start of the year when prices were at $4.603. Although gas prices dropped by 31.8 cents since January 1, 2024, they have risen slightly in recent weeks. Despite the recent uptick, the average price is significantly lower than last year and down $2.088 from its peak in October 2022. National gas prices also saw a decline, with an average price of $3.043, marking a reduction of $1.973 from their record highs in 2022. According to Patrick De Haan from GasBuddy, 2024 will see a stable national average price trend, continuing the decline for the second consecutive year.
