Desert Theatricals Announces 2025 Season with Auditions for "Oliver" and "Hairspray"

Desert Theatricals in Rancho Mirage is gearing up for an exciting 2025 season filled with Broadway classics, variety shows, and opportunities for aspiring performers. On today’s Desert Entertainment, founders Josh Car and Ray Lemmon revealed the upcoming lineup and audition details for “Oliver” and “Hairspray.”

For 2025, Desert Theatricals will be back at the amphitheater with a Broadway series featuring Oliver in March and Hairspray in April. In addition to these major productions, the theater company will offer kids’ programs and variety shows at the Rancho Mirage Library. 1963, starring Rs Tully, kicks off on January 11th, followed by Francesca Amari and The Mod Squad on February 13th.

Auditions for Oliver and Hairspray are set for January 4th, with a separate kids' audition on January 6th. The shows feature a significant number of children in the cast, and Desert Theatricals is calling on young performers between the ages of 10-17 who love to sing and dance to audition. Desert Theatricals is also proud to offer scholarships to students pursuing continuing education in the arts. This year, the company awarded a $2,500 scholarship to Xavier Brown, a talented young performer who has worked with the theater company since he was 12. Xavier, now 17, is currently in New York interviewing for colleges to further his arts education.
