Arrest Made in October Village Fest Shooting, Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder
An arrest has been made in connection to the shooting that occurred during Village Fest in downtown Palm Springs on October 17th. According to the Palm Springs Police Department, two juvenile victims were hospitalized after being shot during the event.
20-year-old Felipe Vargas was identified as one of the suspects involved in the shooting. Following the investigation, the Palm Springs Police Department executed a search warrant at Vargas' residence in North Palm Springs. Vargas was arrested and is now facing two counts of attempted murder.
The shooting shocked the community, especially considering the large number of people gathered at the popular downtown event. While the identities of the victims have not been disclosed, the police report confirmed that both juveniles sustained injuries but are expected to recover.
Vargas has been booked at the detention center in Indio and is awaiting further legal proceedings. The Palm Springs Police Department continues to investigate the case, and officials have expressed their commitment to ensuring justice for the victims.
