Fitness icon and Coachella Valley resident David Lyons transcends accolades. With more than 45 years in the industry, he's a national fitness Hall of Fame inductee. Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2005 and undeterred, David not only achieved the honor of being given a Lifetime Achievement award from Arnold Schwarzenegger, he also founded the MS FitnessChallenge charity. He then built OptimalBody, a global movement focused on his unique methods, that shatters limitations and proves that fitness is for everyone, regardless of age, ability or challenge. A troubling history is coming to light in a Palm Desert husband’s death. 65-year old Vicky Kim is accused in the death of her husband — but prosecutors say she had previously faced several domestic violence cases involving him. The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office says it had secured protective orders against Kim before a judge later resolved her cases as misdemeanors, released her from custody and terminated those orders. Now, Kim is expected to be arraigned in connection with her husband’s death. Court records allege the weapon used was a flagpole.
